Ian Cammish: Time Trialling 'Legend' / 'icon' / 'wannabe' / 'has-been' / whatever floats your boat.
The what, why and wherefore of British Time Trialling as seen through the eyes of me … Ian Cammish, holder of over 50 National Cycling Championships and Records. Or ... the aftermath of an extended college project, “how to create a web-site” by son Jack, aged 17, Hills Road College, Cambridge. (I think winning and breaking over 50 National Championships and records were easier!).
“I could write a book” I said. But Peter Whitfield, author of Twelve Champions, The Condor Years and more, told me “there’s no money in it” so for anyone who’s interested here’s a totally free, unexpurgated insight into time trialling through the ages from yours truly … Ian Cammish aged 55 ¼.
Over the forty-plus years I've been cycling, a lot of influential people have helped me achieve what I set out to do but inevitably, over the period of time, we have all each gone our own separate ways. This is just one way of expressing my gratitude to you all. If it also brings back fond memories of yesteryear to any time trialling enthusiasts who happen to stumble on the site, then so much the better :-)

PDQ 'Prima Donna' tt handlebars / stem combo.
It is now ten years since we sold our first set of PDQPB tt bars. We’ve sold LOTS ...
and … they still continue to be very popular.
However, things (apparently) move on and, much as we’d like to put our feet up and
reap the rewards of those ten years of hard grafting, we still feel we’ve got something
to offer the discerning cycling public ... so welcome to our latest, newest, fastest
‘triple-action muscle-booster you can’t bend it’ set of tt / triathlon bars.
They are VERY nice!
You can now go (virtually) as high and narrow as all the current whiz-kids are going.
With all the spacers provided, you can get the extensions 15 cm +/- a tad c/c above
the base bar. Of course you don’t HAVE to go that high. Just remove one (or more) of
the 20 mm spacers and Robert is your proverbial Uncle.
The integrated stem is adjustable in length (honest!). There is a quite ingenious
method of sliding the base bar forwards or backwards to give an effective stem length
of anywhere between 85 and 100 mm.
Already supplied with 15 degree angled clamps!
High(er) sided rests than our original bars … keeps your elbows firmly together and
stops you from slipping over the edge as you continue to accelerate into orbit.
Extra long 420 mm extensions. You can trim them down if
you like but we often get asked if we can supply long
extensions … so here you are!
Fits any standard 1 1/8” fork column. So easy to slip your
'aero-less oldies' off and replace them with these
sooper-dooper state-of-the-art stunners!
Detachable computer mount included.
We think these compare VERY favourably with the likes of
TriRig, Aerocoach, Wattshop, etc … but £00s less expensive
. So be like the rest at a fraction of the cost. You too can be
a 'tt tart' or even a 'PDQ Prima Donna'.
Available in any colour you want ... as long as it's Henry
Ford matt black 😉
